Umbiance Center for the Performing Arts was founded on a simple but powerful belief that every young person who discovers a love for the arts deserves a place to develop it fully. What began as a small dance studio in Fredericksburg, Virginia has grown into one of the region's most respected performing arts institutions.
From the very beginning, UCPA has offered something different. Not just classes but training. Not just recitals but performances. Not just instruction but mentorship. Every faculty member, every program, every production is designed with one goal in mind: to help students discover what they are truly capable of.

Today, UCPA offers a full spectrum of pre-professional programs in dance, theater, vocal performance, and piano — serving students from age 3 through adulthood. Our company dancers perform on real stages, our theater students tackle full productions, and our faculty brings professional experience into every class.
