1. DROPPING A CLASS:  Students may drop a class at any time.  However, any class dropped after the second week will not be refunded.  In order to for a student to be officially dropped from a class, a Drop Class Form must be filled out and turned in to the front desk.  Not attending class does not disenroll the student from the class and additional fees may incur until a Drop Class Form is received.  Drop Class Forms are available online and at the front desk and must be completed and turned in before your child will be removed from the class. 

  2. DRESS CODE: All students are required to wear appropriate dance attire to class. This also includes hair being pulled back and out of the way of dancing. The requirements are located on the web and at the studio.

  3.  Occasional special notes will be sent home with your student from class. It is the responsibility of the dancer and the dancer’s parent to check to see if they have missed an important note sent home. They will also be posted on the message board in the lobby of the studio.

  4. For your convenience, we try to give scheduled dates of important events such as; Recital, rehearsals, picture days and dates classes are not in session by the first week of September. Please note them on your calendar so that your dancer will be prepared and you will not have any schedule conflicts.

  5. TUITION  - Tuition is always due by the 3rd of every month. We have several convenient ways for you to pay your monthly tuition at Umbiance. You may sign up for an automatic payment for a small fee of $5.00 at the front desk, turn it in at the front desk, or send it in the mail. If you catch us before or after hours you may slip it through the doors at the studio. A $20.00 late fee will be added after the 3rd of each month and each additional week the account becomes delinquent. Tuition is paid each month (Sept - June) unless a drop form in signed at the front desk. (Also see the contract about tuition payments)

  6. ABSENCES: Please give the studio a courtesy call or send an email, if your dancer will be absent from class. Also this is a good time to check with the front desk to see if you will be missing any important information being sent home.

  7. Missed classes due to inclement weather, holidays or absences may be made up, but tuition may not be skipped or altered. Classes made up do not count towards perfect or near perfect attendance.

  8. CANCELLATIONS: Cancelled classes due to weather will be posted on our website and through emails . We are no longer following school schedules so please check the website if you are questioning if classes are cancelled. This means we may have separate closings for morning and evening so please always double check. The first cancellation due to weather you may make-up in another class. Any further closings, class make-ups will be scheduled. If you are not able to make the scheduled day and time, you may find a similar class. If a class is cancelled due to weather or teachers schedule, you will not be penalized for your perfect attendance record.

  9. UCPA is an alcohol, drug and bully free environment. None of the following will be tolerated. If a student participates in any of the above listed, a parent will be contacted and further action will be taken.

  10. REFUNDS: There are absolutely no refunds after  the 2nd class.  For further questions please email us.  There will be no refunds,deductions or transfers for any reasons for missed classes. In the event that classes are cancelled due to lack of minimum enrollment, the class will be combined with another class.

  11. CLASS PLACEMENT:  Students are placed in class  on an individual basis by (age and ability)  and will be advanced at the discretion of the instructor.

  12. REGISTRATION:  Enrollment in a class is on a first come first served basis. Enrollment is secured by a completed online registration, a signed waiver and payment of tuition and registration fees.  Bear in mind that registering in the system does not enroll the student in a class.  In order to be enrolled in a class, you must physically select the class. Please contact us if you have any trouble with enrollment.  Students will remain enrolled in a class until a Drop Class Form is received by the studio. Registration fees are due the first month of the year. 

  13. STUDIO CLOSINGS: ⦁    New Year’s Eve 
    ⦁    New Year’s Day 
    ⦁    Martin Luther King Day 
    ⦁    Spring Break (In accordance with Stafford County Public School Schedule.  Spring Break Camp will be offered). 
    ⦁    Memorial Day 
    ⦁    Independence Day 
    ⦁    Thanksgiving Break (Includes the Wednesday before and the Friday after Thanksgiving) 
    ⦁    Christmas Break (Includes Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, New Year’s Eve, New Year’s Day and the days in between in accordance with the Stafford County Public School Schedule). 

  14. SINGLE STUDENT: if only one student comes for any given class. That class will be held for 30 minutes, instead of the full hour or 45min.

  15. INSURANCE: All students are required to be covered by their own insurance policies. If an injury occurs it is understood that the students own policy is the only source of reimbursement.  UCPA is not responsible for loss or any personal belongings
